What Katie Ate

Recently Kate White was given a copy of the “What Katie Ate” cookbook by renowned blogger, photographer and food stylist Katie Quinn Davies. Having first met Katie at the Lantern author’s book launch, Katie was in awe of this talented and beautiful woman.

Katie’s passion for food is evident in her new cookbook which is a culmination of years of work. Each recipe is developed, cooked, styled and shot by Katie and after trialling some of her recipes on the weekend we are testament to her creations. Due out in October 2012 it is full of honest, home-cooked recipes inspired by her love of dinner parties for family and friends. It couldn’t better reflect our philosophy of food.

The highlands of Hopewood Country House

ImageWe are always looking for unique and special venues and our recent wedding at Hopewwod Country House would have to be one of them. The historic estate is nestled among the beautiful NSW Southern Highlands in Bowral. Unlike other function venues, we love this estate for its variety of settings whether it be the magnificent aviary garden, the enchanting sunken fernery or the picturesque conservatory.

As day led into night and the Spring sun set behind the trees, our guests were kept warm by crackling log fires before being shown upstairs for dinner. Coffee and desert followed in the beautifully kept drawing rooms while children were entertained with an oversized chessboard as the night too quickly passed.

Working with the owner Suzie Anderson was a delight, she is not your typical function manager and this is not your typical venue! The use of Hopewood Country House comes with a cottage and hire fee included and chairs provided for your outdoor ceremony. We think this location is an absolute treasure and are looking forward to more beautiful events here.
