Feeling the cold

Katering is having one of our busiest winters as we long for all the lovely things that keep us warm. Buttery pies, toasted marshmallows, open fires and warm puddings….
We have helped our clients celebrate a lot over the winter months, 30 year corporate birthdays, elegant cocktail parties for the Australian Chamber Orchestra and regal dinners at Government House. We embraced the dropping temperatures last weekend and gave a 35th birthday party the Winter Wonderland treatment with ice sculptures and sparkling white snowflakes.
We took further inspiration from nature’s winter tones of warm orange, deep dark browns and forest greens for some long lunches and unique dinners in unusual spaces. Keep your eye out for our 3 course winter recipes in the upcoming Belle Magazine.
On other menus we have offered flaky snapper pies with smoked tomato, seared veal with fresh lemon and caper salsa, hearty bouillabaisse with traditional garlic croute and braised beef cheeks with deep fried pencil leek and horseradish crème. For dessert prune and Armagnac soufflés, rhubarb and apple crumbles and sticky toffee pudding with a ginger twist have been very popular.
But a great event needs more than just delicious food and wine, it is often live music that will really get the party started. From the delightful opera singing,Three Waiters to the super fun La Fiesta sound system or a great DJ. We can always recommend the perfect entertainment for your occasion.
Our most exciting news is the launch of Katering at home in the coming weeks.
For years we have been coming into your homes. We know how you like to feed your family and we know how hard it is to find the time and motivation every day to come up with healthy and exciting food that will bring everyone to the table at night.
Follow us on Instagram @katering and we will keep you updated and let you know when to place your first order!
We can not wait for you to try this one at home, delicious Crisp pork belly with Asian slaw and ginger sauce.
On another note, check out Fratelli and T & R Gourmet Butchery with our fresh mayonnaise, aioli and stocks. Let us know if you would like to see our products in any of your local stores?
